Conservation and Recycling

This and That

August 24, 2011
My trusty, but old, old Blackberry finally hit the bricks a few weeks ago. I bought an iPhone, which I’m crazy about, and now I’m in the process of scouting out apps for it. I found a nifty site, Eco-officegals.com that lists five green apps for business. Check it out here
Another website resource you may want to browse around is GreenLeafGoods.com. This link is to a blog posting defining some common environmental terms, like sustainability, in plain language. The blogs are topical and contain some nuggets of info that can add interest to office newsletters.
Will you be in NYC on August 28? If so, head to Ecofest at Pier 86, the USS Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum for a day-long environmental learning and experience extravaganza on all things sustainable and energy-efficient.
Time to get caught up on climate changes? Head to NASA’s Global Climate Change—vital signs of the plant website with 3D imagery.
If you aren’t sure you’re succeeding in the paper wars, Waste Wise Products has some ideas. Our office is working to cut down on consumption as a first priority, to print on both sides including using the unused sides as draft copies, and to maximize recycling by putting bins by copiers and in individual work spaces.
GreenWorksGov is seeking guest authors for upcoming blogs. Send us your news, tips, and experiences greening your office to share with your colleagues.
