Internet (New and Improved 1/12)

Here are some links where you will find expert info on a range of green related topics.  They can be used to build your office’s Intranet of resources for staffers working on green projects and for employees who are interested in learning more about sustainable practices at work, home, and in their communities.  Check them out.  You’ll find more Internet website links in many of them. too.  The Resource Center continues to grow.  Look for blog links to be consolidated here for ease of reference.  We welcome readers’ comments and suggestions.

Climate Change
This is the Pew Center on Global Climate Change site for analysis and information about climate issues and business solutions.
Excellent resource offering links to many educational resources about climate change. A bonus is that it includes resources for young students, too.  (thank you to Lauren Jackson for this reference)
The World Resources Institute is a global environmental think tank.  Issues, ideas, solutions.  Very good sources of current news, developments, directions.
Climate Analysis Indicators Tool developed by the World Resources Institute.  A database of greenhouse gas emissions data and climate relevant info that can be sourced for policy decisions.
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, established by the UN and winner of the Nobel Prize for disseminating scientific information about climate change and laying the foundation to counteract it. An obvious source….

The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change—the Kyoto Protocal and since.

General Sources of News and Information
Literally, this website covers news and information from A to Z.  This is a nearly overwhelming collection of green links, definitely worth browsing and picking your favorites.
This is the Wall Street Journal’s Environmental Capital daily news on what’s happening with business and the environment.
Excellent source of information from the leading entity in the Pacific Northwest to promote citizen participation in sustainable endeavors at work, home, and in the communities.  Partners with Oregon Lawyers for a Sustainable Future.
One of the early standard bearers for green information.  It’s been hip a long time.
The Missouri Master Naturalist’s Chert Glades Chapter in southern Missouri has compiled a nifty resource directory that will help you find all kinds of information about living green, animals, birds, reptiles, mammals, etc.  Nice work!
http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/ The federal Environmental Protection Agency.
This is one of my key resources for information, calculators, etc.
A good example of the info you can find at your county health department website.  Franklin County in North Carolina has links and info about the environment and its impact on public health.
The World Watch Institute is a global organization collecting and sharing info about climate change, resource degradation, demographics and sustainable solutions. Lots of research and publications on topics you can use.

Especially for the Green Law Office
This is a first-rate “mega” link to many resources, including green and is aimed at the legal community.  It is a one-stop shopping bag for many green resources on the Internet.
This is the American Bar Association’s Sustainable Law Office compendium of “how to green” a law office (and the info is helpful to any business entity).  Find out how to join the ABA Eco-Challenge which includes hundreds of law firms and public law offices on its roster of green partners committed to sustainable business practices.

Handy reference for stats on CO2 and other types of vehicle emissions.  Extra bonus links to other resources on auto emissions, hybrids, alternative fuels and transportation statistics.
